About Me

Work

I currently work as a Software Engineer at Wells Fargo in West Des Moines, Iowa, contributing to internal front-end projects focused on financial recovery. I work as part of an Agile development team operating in two-week sprints, with work organized and tracked through Jira. My primary focus is developing and implementing React and TypeScript components, with an emphasis on delivering functional, maintainable features efficiently. Our development workflow utilizes Git for version control, and I occasionally contribute to the Java middleware layer supporting the APIs behind these applications.

Beyond day-to-day development, I have experience with automated testing tools and suites such as Playwright, helping support reliable and maintainable applications. My current role also provides hands-on experience with AI-assisted software development. Wells Fargo incorporates AI tooling across a variety of workflows, and I have worked with Microsoft Copilot, Devin, and several internal AI tools to enhance development tasks, accelerate implementation, and explore more efficient approaches to solving engineering problems.

My current work has given me experience across the full development process, from implementing front-end components and integrating APIs to testing and leveraging emerging development tools. I particularly enjoy the challenge of taking requirements and turning them into working functionality quickly while continuing to expand my technical breadth and effectiveness as an engineer.

School

I began my academic journey by earning a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering from Iowa State University in May of 2023. My undergraduate studies provided a strong technical foundation and shaped the way I approach problem-solving, systems, and technology. After spending time working in the industry, I began to think more deeply about the people who interact with the technology I was building and how thoughtful design can make those interactions more intuitive, accessible, and meaningful.

That interest led me to pursue a part-time Master’s degree in Human-Computer Interaction at Iowa State, beginning in June of 2025. My graduate work has allowed me to build on my engineering background while developing a deeper understanding of users, interaction design, research, and the human factors that shape technology. This combination of technical and human-centered perspectives continues to inform how I approach design and problem-solving.

Extra

I enjoy learning new skills, exploring unfamiliar disciplines, and turning that knowledge into something tangible. That means deconstructing broken robots, designing a kaleidoscope, experimenting with 3D modeling, or learning to sew. I bring that same curiosity and adaptability to all aspects of my life, approaching new problems with a willingness to learn quickly, ask questions, and develop the skills needed to understand them from different perspectives.
